It’s pretty hard to define yourself in the world of gins, but Brockmans Gin cheeky tagline “The Properly Improper Gin” suggests there’s something out of the ordinary happening here.
Brockmans Gin was born in 2008 in the United Kingdom and has become one of the fastest growing gins in the world. They may begin with pure grain spirit like other traditional gins, then they throw in the wow factor.
What is Brockmans Gin
Starting with Tuscan juniper berries, Bulgarian coriander, orange peel, cassia bark, Brockmans then adds blackberries and blueberries into the mix. What does this do? It wins awards, that’s what. Brockmans Gin has won a Gold Medal at the International Craft Spirits Awards, Double Gold Medal at the inaugural 2019 PR%F Spirits Awards, Platinum Medal winner in the gin category at the 2021 SIP Awards, and so many others that it’s easy to lose count.
How does Brockmans Gin taste
Distilling the spirit in a 100 year old traditional copper pot adds depth of flavor and makes it a super smooth gin with subtle flavour notes of red fruits, as well as a hint of juniper. Perfect neat or in cocktails.
You can’t miss the berries, so even if you are a non-gin drinker, you should give Brockmans Gin a try. Mixed with Fever Tree Tonic Water with a slice of or Ginger Ale
- Color: Although the bottle is black, the liquid is clear.
- Nose: Berry fruit is the name of the game here – blackberries and blueberries galore!
- Taste: There is no denying this is a fruity gin, but it’s not sweet, so a perfect match with tonic.
- Finish: The finish is a blend of floral berry notes and citrus peels!
- Alcohol: 40%
Why Lush Life loves it
I love the fact that it’s all about summer berries! So even if you are a non-gin drinker, you should give it a try. Mixed with Fever Tree Tonic Water and a twist of pink grapefruit peel or even Ginger Ale, it actually might convert you and become your favorite gin.
Gin Drinkers will identify that there is something different on the first taste and might be surprised that they are adding a new gin to their repertoire!
