Don’t Miss Barcelona Hotel Bar Week – September 22 to 28, 2025

Barcelona Hotel Bar Week, a unique event that will turn the city into a journey through mixology, gastronomy, and culture across the most iconic hotel bars – 1 week of events in over 20 of the best Hotel Bars in the city.

Barcelona Hotel Bar Week is designed for those who enjoy mixology at its finest. In its first edition, it will offer exclusive access to some of the city’s most iconic hotels, with top-level bartenders and an innovative format that combines cocktails, gastronomy, and cultural experiences. For seven days, Barcelona will become a liquid tour through its hotel bars, featuring special activities, tastings, and gatherings designed to discover the city from a new perspective.

BHBW also aims to bring hotels closer to the city’s residents, inviting the local public to rediscover these spaces as accessible, versatile, and full of opportunities: from an after-work cocktail to special occasions.

Beyond being an innovative event, BHBW positions itself as an international platform to showcase local talent, revitalize the city’s social and cultural life, and strengthen Barcelona’s role as the European capital of mixology.

“Barcelona has incredible hotel bars: unique spaces, talented bartenders and creative potential yet to be discovered. With BHBW we want to enhance this side of the city’s identity, bring people together and celebrate the growing link between mixology, culture and hospitality. This first edition is just the beginning of something exciting, ” says Bianca Grisolia, founder of BHBW.

A week to discover Barcelona through its Hotel Bars

  • A week full of experiences: events, masterclasses, product launches, yoga classes, recreational activities, and local and international guests.
  • Each hotel offers a dedicated drinks list with at least two exclusive cocktails, available all week at the fixed price of €12:
    • 1 Signature Cocktail
    • 1 low ABV or non-alcoholic cocktail
  • 7 days and 25 among the best hotel bars in Barcelona

From 22nd to 28th of September, 25 of the best hotel bars in Barcelona will offer an exclusive drink list consisting of at least two cocktails specially created for the occasion: a Signature Cocktail and a low ABV or non-alcoholic cocktail, available throughout the week at a fixed reduced price of €12.

However, the experience goes beyond the cocktail: BHBW offers a complete immersion in the universe of hotel bars with activities open to the public. Every day brings masterclasses, workshops, seminars, product launches, and recreational activities for both industry professionals and cocktail lovers.

After sunset, Barcelona will turn on the lights of its hotel bars with guest shifts and bar takeovers that will bring national and international bartenders to the city. The evening program features themed events, panoramic aperitifs on the city’s most stunning rooftops and, among the most anticipated initiatives, Mix & Eat, the format that brings together mixology and gastronomy.

Although part of the city’s daily landscape, many hotels remain little explored by local residents. With BHBW, these spaces are presented as open, vibrant, and full of possibilities: an invitation to experience and celebrate them as an integral part of the social and cultural life of the city.

All the details and the updated calendar of events will be available and continuously updated on the official website www.barcelonahotelbarweek.com and on the Instagram page @barcelonahotelbarweek.

The week’s Events Agenda

The week will open on Monday 22 September with the official Opening Party, an exclusive invitation-only event held on the terrace of the Cotton House Hotel, one of the earliest supporters and promoters of BHBW’s values.

“We are proud to be part of the first edition of Barcelona Hotel Bar Week, together with over 20 hotels in the city, to celebrate our shared passion for mixology and commitment to quality. At Batuar we believe in the importance of a strong community, where exchange, learning and collaboration are the protagonists. The first edition of the Barcelona Hotel Bar Week represents a unique opportunity to give visibility to the true value of the hotel bar: not only as an additional service, but as an essential part of the hospitality experience.”says Riccardo del Gatto, F&B Manager Cotton House Hotel.

The event calendar is rich and diverse: it includes yoga and meditation classes with a non-alcoholic aperitif, brunch and themed dinners with matching cocktails, as well as sensory masterclasses and special evenings such as the Mandarin Global Night, Saturday 27th evening at the Mandarin Oriental bar, which will bring together for one night MO Barcelona, MO Londra, MO Madrid.
The week will end on Sunday 28th with a Closing Party open to the public, to celebrate the end of the first edition of BHBW together. The “secret” location will be revealed in the coming days on the official Instagram page of Barcelona Hotel Bar Week.

Among the confirmed international guests are names such as Salvatore Calabrese “The Maestro” and Federico Pavan, Donovan (London, United Kingdom),  Emanuele Balestra (Cannes, France), Kelvin Thairu and James Kariuki, from the Hero team (Nairobi, Kenya); Brent Perremore, from Art of Duplicity (Cape Town, South Africa); Riccardo Licorni, The court (Rome, Italy), and the Pier42 team, Oslo.

Among the national and local guests and speakers: Almudena Castro, Dr. Stravinsky (Barcelona); Davide Norcini, Stravinsky’s Parfumerie (Barcelona); Andrea Lorusso, co-founder of Gardeum; Juan Valls, owner of El Niño Perdido (Valladolid); Pau Braso, Proximo Spain; Omar Jaimes, Marlowe (Barcelona); Valentino Creatura, Spain District Manager at Ketel One Vodka; Sergio Pardo, co-founder and Brand Ambassador of @misakidrinks (Barcelona); Alberto and Inés Martinez, 1862 Dry Bar (Madrid); Jorge Balbontin; Silvia Dorninger, owner and bartender at Aldea (Barcelona); Eleany Quintero, Momus (Madrid); and Tania Shamshur, Ambassador of Condesa Gin.

One of the week’s initiatives, designed to strengthen the sense of community among hotels, is the Barcelona Gin Masters Challenge, organized in collaboration with 100&NOMORE, the Barcelona-based craft gin and one of the event’s sponsors. Hotel InterContinental Barcelona will host the event on Wednesday 24 September, from 12:300 to 16:00. Eight bartenders, guided by 4 globally known mentors, will compete in two friendly rounds in which they will have to create a trilogy of cocktails with various versions of gin. Everyone will come out a winner from the challenge, which offers visibility, networking and special opportunities such as becoming a brand ambassador or creating a special edition for BHBW 2026.

On Saturday, 27 September, BHBW will celebrate Shochu Day, as part of the month of friendship between Catalonia and Japan. Shochu, a traditional Japanese spirit made from ingredients such as barley, rice or sweet potato, is still little known in Europe, yet it is one of Japan’s most cherished beverages thanks to its versatility, moderate alcohol content and delicate aromatic profile. For one day only, a selection of hotel bars will serve an exclusive shochu-based cocktail, inviting the public to discover this spirit in a contemporary and creative way. A tribute to Japanese culture that, through the universal language of mixology, strengthens the cultural bond between Barcelona and Japan.

The Exchanges and International Collaborations
This first edition will also launch some international exchanges that strengthen the dialogue between Barcelona and other capitals of mixology. BHBW has organized an exchange with two other international events debuting this year: Cape Town Cocktail Week (10-16 December 2025), led by Leah van Deventer, and Kenya Bartender Week (2-8 September 2025).

As part of these exchanges, the city will welcome Brent Perremore from Art of Duplicity (Cape Town, South Africa), representing CTCW, for a guest shift at Batuar, Cotton House Hotel on Saturday 27. In December, the Batuar team will travel to Cape Town to return the experience.
In parallel, the collaboration with KBW will bring Kelvin Thairu and James Kariuki from the Hero team (Nairobi, Kenya) to Barcelona for a special guest shift at Kyara, SLS Barcelona on Thursday 25. The Kyara team will then fly to Nairobi in the coming months to complete the exchange.

Mix & Eat activation
Mix & Eat is the flagship initiative that combines mixology and gastronomy. Throughout the week, a few selected hotels will open their doors to offer a unique sensory experience, featuring refined brunches, innovative tapas and gourmet dinners paired with their signature cocktails. The list of participating hotels will be published shortly, allowing you to create a real “foodie route” to discover the different venues. A real itinerary of taste that invites you to explore the city through food and drinks in special locations. Not only pairing, but integrated experiences: in several cases the spirits will be part of the recipes, giving life to original dishes that tell the synergy between cuisine and bars.

The list of hotels participating in the Mix & Eat initiative will be available on the official website www.barcelonahotelbarweek.com, which is constantly updated with all the latest news, and on the Instagram page  @barcelonahotelbarweek.

The collaboration with Makeat
Barcelona Hotel Bar Week was born to elevate hotel bars to spaces of creativity, innovation, and excellence. For this first edition, BHWB has activated a partnership with Makeat, a gastronomic and food design development centre that shares the vision of a constantly evolving hospitality, where bars and restaurants become places of storytelling and sensory exploration.

The collaboration aims at interdisciplinary, generating conversations capable of inspiring teams and stimulating co-creation within hotels. Together with Makeat, BHBW has designed exclusive workshops – both in the pre-event period and during the BHBW – to offer tools, ideas and creative stimuli to the hotel’s teams, combining cuisine and mixology.

This alliance addresses issues central to the industry, such as circularity and differentiation, and helps redefine the consumer experience. The integration of Makeat underlines how BHBW25 is also a strategic thinking platform for the future of hotel bars: a model that combines entertainment, content and evolution.

Useful information: The BHBW Pass and the Hotel Bar Passport

Barcelona Hotel Bar Week is open to everyone. Purchasing the official Pass – available on the BHBW website, social channels and Eventbrite – grants access to exclusive additional benefits: your personal Bar Passport, the chance to collect stamps at each hotel visited and win prizes based on the number of drinks enjoyed, plus entry to the Closing Party on Sunday, 28 September.

By showing the BHBW Pass at the first hotel bar visited, each participant will receive their Bar Passport – both a tangible keepsake and an interactive game. For every 5, 10, 15 or 25 stamps collected (1 hotel = 1 stamp), participants unlock exclusive surprises, ranging from official merchandise to bottles and special prizes. A journey that rewards curiosity, making every stop a unique experience. Updates and previews will be shared on BHBW’s official social channels.
