How to Make the Alaska Cocktail

The Alaska Cocktail is a classic blending the juniper flavors of gin with the herbal notes of yellow Chartreuse. Served very cold – like the state!!

Served in a Nick and Nora glass and garnished with a lemon twist, this simple, yet powerful, Pre-prohibition cocktail captures everything we think of as Alaskan – gin and chartreuse. Although, I say that tongue in cheek, no one knows how and where the Alaska cocktail came to be.

It was thought of to have been conceived using Old Tom Gin, but it made the pages The Savoy Cocktail Book in 1930 as a London dry gin cocktail!

Super easy to make, with only two ingredients and a twist, but super complex with the combination of herbal notes of gin and Yellow Chartreuse plus the citrus of the lemon peel! So chose your gin carefully as it can’t hide in this one!
