What is a Spritz

We actually have the Germans to thank for the spritz, aka spritzen (to spray)! In the 19th C, the Austro-Hungarian troops arrived in the Veneto and immediately began ordering Italian wine, as one does.

The urban myth is that this wine was a tad stronger than they were used to, so they spritzed a bit of water in. Thus, the Spritz cocktail as we know it was born!

What is Ketel One Vodka

Ketel One was born in the Netherlands and it’s older than the USA. Founded in 1691 by Joannes Nolet and still owned by the same family, Ketel One began by producing the Dutch spirit, Genever – the pre-cursor to gin!

Ketel One didn’t start thinking about vodka until the 1980’s, when Carolus Nolet, 10th Generation (!), saw it was becoming super popular, while on a trip to USA. He went on to perfect the now-famous liquid, by crafting it in their copper pot still named, Distilleerketel #1. Thus the name Ketel One was given to the wheat spirit it produced and that pot still even appears on the label!

Don’t think Ketel One is stuck in the past though. It’s all very high tech with the use of both the column and pot still, creating the vodka that wins award after award.

What are Ketel One Botanicals

Recently, Ketel One introduced their new Botanical range of vodkas that are distilled with real botanicals and infused with fruit essences. They have no added sugar, artificial sweeteners, or artificial flavors.

Ketel One promised that each botanical essence is individually and naturally obtained through innovative extraction methods and distillation processes for the freshest, cleanest, most crisp taste possible!

How divine is the combination of Peach and Orange Blossom!

My mouth is watering thinking of summer white peaches! Mixed with the heady scent of orange blossoms, I can’t think of a more intoxicating combination, taking me right to Tunisia or Morocco where Orange Blossom grows on every corner. Mix it with soda water, or even Prosecco, and it will transport you somewhere exotic with one sip.
