The Fenjiu Christmas Fizz is a floral, sparkling, Chinese-inspired cocktail that pairs Fenjiu baijiu with jasmine liqueur, dry vermouth, and your favorite bubbly. It comes together right in the flute in just 5 minutes, which makes it a joy for holiday toasts.

A Little About Fenjiu
Baijiu is a Chinese grain spirit, and Fenjiu comes from Xinghua Village in Fenyang, Shanxi province, a place with a long tradition of making spirits. It is best known for its light-aroma style, made from sorghum fermented with a barley and pea starter. The modern distillery was founded in 1949, and Fenjiu was named one of China’s Four Famous Spirits in 1952.
It also won a gold medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in 2019, which helped bring it to a wider audience in the UK. In this fizz, the baijiu meets Muyu Jasmine Verte, a floral liqueur created by bartender Monica Berg to be served with champagne, so the pairing feels both timeless and new.
Variations
- Use any other bottle from the Fenjiu range in place of the Fen Chiew 10 Year Old.
- Another aromatic floral or fruit liqueur can stand in for Muyu Jasmine Verte.
- Another dry white vermouth works beautifully in place of Noilly Prat Extra Dry.
- Champagne, Prosecco, or Cava all make a lovely top-up.

Why Lush Life Loves It
I love a Christmas toast with a little surprise in it, and this fizz delivers one beautifully. It is elegant enough for a celebration, easy enough to make in a moment, and a wonderful way to introduce friends to baijiu.
