Equal Parts Launches a New Menu

Hackney-based neighbourhood cocktail bar, Equal Parts, launches its new menu on Sunday 23rd of June. The menu will shine light on the diversity of grapes-based liquors and wines from various regions including Porto, Cognac and Austria.

Bar owner and director, Michael Sager, who is also the founder of Sager + Wilde and Bruno, has collaborated closely with the Equal Parts’ new bar manager, Jamaïque Ardilouze, to develop the menu. Michael has injected his passion and years of experience in wine with Jamaïque’s gastronomical expertise and palate to create cocktails that are both complex yet approachable. As the bar’s name implies, they emphasize simplicity in all good drinks while fostering true creative freedom in a collaborative environment influenced by local resources. 

The menu is divided into two sections with six seasonal signature cocktails that are delicate on flavour where the other section of six ever-changing classic cocktails offers more full body flavours. Cocktails include the indulgent Frangelicone, made with a blend of white chocolate mezcal, Frangelico, sweet port, and umeshu; Troussaupinet, a sophisticated fusion of Rosé wine, cognac, Pineau des Charentes, and apricot; and Adonis, featuring Fino sherry, sweet vermouth, and a hint of orange bitters.  

Equal Parts timeless aesthetic was inspired by artist Edward Hopper’s famous painting “Nighthawks” resulting in its classic neighbourhood cocktail lounge bar design with Brooklyn-esque qualities. The bar’s interior is a harmony of tones from the golden hues of low-lit lighting to the arched Japanese wooden back bar and zinc bar top to its earthy green tiled exterior. Equal Parts’ rare collection of records is played all day from the vintage Hi-Fi sound system to create a comfort-driven contemporary listening bar and to enhance the guest’s drinking experience.
