I love a Spritz any time of year! One that tastes of watermelon, well, that brings me right back to summer! That hint of bubbles give me something to celebrate and I found that the Cîroc Watermelon Spritz is now one of my favorite cocktails.
My love of watermelon
Living with a Cypriot whose breakfast in summer is watermelon and halloumi without fail, I wake up to a breakfast table full of it every morning. What’s incredible is the watermelon is always so sweet, that’s what I am used to!
When I opened the bottle of CÎROC Summer Watermelon Vodka, I was sent right back to that breakfast table. It was summer in a glass!
What is a Spritz
We actually have the Germans to thank for the spritz, aka spritzen (to spray)! In the 19th C, the Austro-Hungarian troops arrived in the Veneto and immediately began ordering Italian wine, as one does.
The urban myth is that this wine was a tad stronger than they were used to, so they spritzed a bit of water in. Thus, the Spritz cocktail as we know it was born!
What is Cîroc Vodka?
Cîroc Vodka was born in France and is actually distilled from grapes, not the grain. Distilled five times, Cîroc one of the premium vodkas on the market and known to have nod towards citrus.
What is Cîroc Summer Watermelon Vodka?
Cîroc has been producing several specialty expressions with the limited-edition Cîroc Summer Watermelon being one of its most popular. It’s perfect for the simple summer cocktails like the Spritz, and in this case, the Royale!
