Ritorno, a little bit of Milan on the King’s Road, has partnered with VII Hills Italian Dry Gin, created by my friends Danilo Tersigni and Filippo Previero (Lush Life guests), for their Sunday afternoon aperitivo sessions, Dolce Domenica. Featuring a VII Hills cocktail menu every second Sunday from 4-9pm, the next one is on 8th April. The VII Hills aperitivo bring a little bit of Italian tradition to London and is the best way to beat the Sunday Blues.
VII Hills, a premium juniper spirit which combines seven botanicals taken from the seven hills on which, according to legend, Ancient Rome was built, is the perfect Italian gin for the perfect negroni. In true Italian style each drink is accompanied by a complimentary platter of weekly changing cicchetti such as arancini, polpette, grilled octopus and fritto misto. There will be Italian entertainment each week such as live music and DJ’s.
Cocktails on the menu created by Ritorno’s head barman include The Perfect Negroni, VII Hills Italian dry gin, sweet vermouth and bitters; Apium Nostrum, VII Hills, Strega liqueur, celery juice, lemon juice, elderflower liqueur and saffron syrup and Fog on the Hills, VII Hills, Bareclo rum & hazelnut, fig liqueur, orange juice and Floria Marsala Targa Riserva. There will also be a few Italian reinterpretations of classics; an Italian bloody Mary and an espresso martini based on the caffè corretto culture.
Skilfully made in Italy using the best local ingredients, VII Hills Italian Dry Gin is flavoured with the finest natural Italian ingredients that once grew on the seven hills surrounding Rome. Created by Italian mixologists Filippo Previero and Danilo Tersigni, who both have many years of expertise under their belts including in several of the world’s most renowned bars, have come together to make VII Hills Gin. Distilled near Turin, the inspiration for the ingredients used in VII Hills date back to when the Romans used to add juniper into their wine to help them get an appetite.
