How to Make the East 8 Holdup

The East 8 Holdup is a modern classic created by Kevin Armstrong in London in the early 2000s, named after the postcode of the bar where it was first served. It quickly became a favourite during the city’s cocktail revival.

East 8 Holdup

It combines vodka, passion fruit, lime, sugar, and a touch of aperitif, creating a drink that is bright, slightly tart, and very easy to enjoy. The balance of fruit and citrus gives it a lively, refreshing character. It is a cocktail that feels both contemporary and already well established.

Why Lush Life Loves It

I remember this being everywhere at one point, and for good reason. It is one of those drinks that is instantly likeable and always seems to disappear faster than expected.
