When life gives you lemons… do as the Italians do and make a Limoncello spritz!!
Villa Cardea’s authentic limoncello liqueur has just landed in Morrison’s nationwide this month as demand for the Italian summer staple – and the Limoncello Spritz – continues to soar.
To mark the occasion, they are recommending two refreshing serves to transport the nation’s drinkers to the lush lemon groves of Italy and help them enjoy a little slice of La Dolce Vita!
Produced in Bergamo in Northern Italy, Villa Cardea’s traditional Limoncello is created using a unique, natural recipe which infuses the finest lemon peel from Sicily. Its intense yet balanced taste is imbued with the spirit of Italy’s sun-soaked lemon groves and can be enjoyed on its own chilled, or in a simple serve.
And there’s no more popular serve this summer than the Limoncello Spritz: a favourite on UK bar menus up and down the country and a refreshing mix to enjoy with friends and family at home. Even better if you add a slice of Sicilian lemon for extra Italian flavour!

Villa Cardea Limoncello Spritz
Ingredients
- 75 ml Villa Cardea Limoncello
- 50 ml Prosecco
- 25 ml soda water
- Ice and lemon slices to garnish
Instructions
- Fill a large wine glass with ice.
- Add the Prosecco, then the soda water and finally the Limoncello.
- Stir gently and garnish with the lemon.
Notes
- 100ml water
- 20ml lemon juice plus grated zest
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 20ml Villa Cardea Limoncello
- Mix all the ingredients until well combined and the sugar has dissolved.
- Pour into ice lolly moulds (2 to 3 depending on their size).
- Place in the freezer overnight until completely frozen.
