This is the recipe from Abigail Gullo, Creative Director, Loa and our Lush Life guest!
She says, “Go into any decent cocktail bar in the world and order a French 75, and the bartender will promptly make you one with gin. New Orleans is perhaps the only city in the world that will ask you first if you prefer your French 75 made with Gin or Brandy.
While the gin version has become universally accepted – it is quite refreshing and delicious made the Loa way with our signature fresh herbs. But the drink isn’t called the English 75! Many New Orleans bartenders, including those at the French 75 Bar, insist a French brandy, usually Cognac, be used in the creation of this cocktail.
I think it is delicious either way and some in New Orleans even drink this seasonally with the gin version for the warmer months and the brandy version when we finally get a chill in the air!“
