The Kir comes from Burgundy and is named after Félix Kir, a mayor who helped popularise the drink in the mid twentieth century. It was originally a practical way to improve local white wine.

Made with white wine and crème de cassis, it is light, direct, and dependent on the quality of its ingredients. The cassis adds sweetness and colour without overwhelming the base. It is a drink that sits firmly in the aperitif tradition.
Why Lush Life Loves It
This is one I return to when I want something uncomplicated but still considered. It does not try too hard, and that is exactly why it works.
