As we come to the end of 2020, it is fabulous to see so many of my past Lush Life Podcast guests with books on this list of the Best Cocktail Books of 2020. If you are looking for yourself or the cocktail lover in your life, you have loads of choice!
I had to begin the list with the festively named, Very Merry Cocktails! Just remember, these cocktails are great any time of year!
Cas Oh's just published book is really special. Every page is a work of art as he takes us on an alphabetical journey through almost every cocktail in the world.
I met David for a chat in Paris, right before Covid. Although France feels so far away right now, thanks to David's book, I can make one of his cocktails and be transported there in one sip!
As someone who is constantly learning more and more about whisky, I return to Eddie's book over and over again. The tastings have been so much fun and a great way to get friends together to "meet" and sip a dram or two. You can even get a tasting kit sent to you directly to start in your way!
The story of Seedlip and its creator, Ben Branson, is incredible. He single-handedly created the No ABV drinks category himself. He was fabulous to meet and, as one of my first guests, it has been amazing to see Seedlip grow. A gorgeous book for both hi/lo/no ABV drinkers.
Denis Broci, the Bar Manager of all of Claridge's Bars, was just launching this gorgeous cocktail book when I met him. Dedicated to Cecil Beaton, it couldn't be more Roaring 20's. I have a feeling history will be repeating itself in our own 2020's!!
I am not the only one who still misses the Sopranos! If you want to imagine Bugsy Malone sipping a Boulevardier or Meyer Lansky with his Martini in hand, this is the book for you!
Another great Alcohol-Free cocktail recipe book and this time from the former Bon Appétit editor and James Beard Award nominee, Julia Bainbridge!
If you don't have a copy of this on your shelf, then you can't claim to have a cocktail library. One of the greats by the great! After 20 years, Dale DeGroff has updated his original classic! So actually even if you have it, time to get the updated version!
Ivy Mix, one of the best bartenders in the world, has been praising Latin American spirits for years. Anyone who has been lucky enough to visit her Brooklyn bar, Leyenda, will have tasted this love. Now it's all in her new book!
Love one of these books and ready to try making cocktails?
