
Americano
The Americano pre-dates the Negroni! A favorite of Americans at Gaspare Campari’s bar in Milan, Italy in the 1860s, the Americano was slightly tweaked by the infamous Count Negroni to make his eponymous cocktail. No gin = Americano!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 ounces Campari
- 1 1/2 ounces Sweet Vermouth
- Club soda
- Garnish: Orange slice
Instructions
- Add the Campari and Sweet Vermouth to a highball filled with ice
- Top with club soda and stir gently
- Garnish with an orange slice
