Americano

The Americano pre-dates the Negroni! A favorite of Americans at Gaspare Campari’s bar in Milan, Italy in the 1860s, the Americano was slightly tweaked by the infamous Count Negroni to make his eponymous cocktail. No gin = Americano!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces Campari
  • 1 1/2 ounces Sweet Vermouth
  • Club soda
  • Garnish: Orange slice

Instructions

  1. Add the Campari and Sweet Vermouth to a highball filled with ice
  2. Top with club soda and stir gently
  3. Garnish with an orange slice
