Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz bourbon or rye whiskey
  • ¼ oz black tea syrup*
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Orange peel
  • ice cube

Instructions
 

  • *Black tea syrup: Brew 1 cup strong black tea. While hot, stir in 1 cup sugar until dissolved. Cool completely.
  • Add the whiskey, tea syrup, and bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
  • Stir until well chilled—about 20 seconds.
  • Strain into a rocks glass over one large cube.
  • Express an orange peel over the drink, then drop it in.
