Thomas Kochs, Managing Director of Corinthia London, and Salvatore Calabrese, ‘The Maestro,’ are thrilled to announce that the critically acclaimed ‘Velvet by Salvatore Calabrese’ has introduced an outdoor experience as ‘Velvet Alfresco with CAMPARI’ this summer.
Launched on 19 June 2024, ‘Velvet Alfresco’ has been brought to life in partnership with CAMPARI, the iconic, Italian red spirit sitting at the heart of some of the world’s most famous cocktails, most notably the Negroni. Velvet Bar Manager, Christian Maspes and the CAMPARI team had great joy creating an amazing alfresco environment and a perfect summer seasonal cocktail list.
“’Velvet Alfresco with CAMPARI’ is the ideal summer activation and the ultimate place to enjoy an aperitivo. CAMPARI and the team at Velvet have collaborated to create an exceptional experience that our guests will surely enjoy,” enthused Thomas Kochs.
Daniele Quattromini, Director of Food & Beverage at Corinthia London said “It has been a pleasure to work with CAMPARI, Salvatore and the Velvet team to conceive such a special environment for cocktails this summer. I know the attention to detail and effort that has been put into creating a space with a distinctive Italian influence will be hugely appreciated by all who visit.”
‘Velvet Alfresco with CAMPARI’ continues throughout the summer until September, and is located on an exclusive, hidden terrace above the central courtyard of The Garden restaurant, on the first floor of the hotel.
Highlights of the cocktail list include:
Velvet Garibaldi (Campari, Fresh Grapefruit Juice, Passion Fruit)

A short aperitivo menu – Sicilian olives, salami Milano and grissini – accompanies the cocktail list. A small selection of Champagne, wine and other great alternatives is also available.
A colourful Italian summer-inspired design mix of seating and umbrellas by CAMPARI spans the alfresco space, including banquette benches and high tables, all around the beautiful central pergola space.
