Three days, one city, loads of cocktail – Tales on Tour hit Edinburgh last weekend and I was invited to join in the fun and festivities. Over sixty events including seminars, bar take-overs by visiting bartenders, tastings and just overall enjoyment of the industry we love. In this episode, instead of meeting just one person, you’ll meet many who, while creating new brands, are also hoping to change the world for the better.
Tales of the Cocktail Foundation, the cocktail conference which originated in New Orleans almost 15 years ago, help kick off the cocktail craze we have today. Every two years since 2011, they’ve taken themselves on tour to different cities around the world to spread the word.
However, I am not sure people know that Tales of the Cocktail is a Foundation and in their own words, “We are proud to tell you that the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation will be dedicated to educating, advancing and supporting our industry and New Orleans, the city that TOTCF calls home. As a non-profit, we will aim to stimulate and promote the thought leaders of our trade. We are committed to supporting others who share this vision and those who are willing to do the work to move our industry forward. The Foundation aims to support nascent or existing non-profit organizations and individuals who are developing a scope of work or specific project that will impact the hospitality community whether local, regional, national or international. Topical examples include projects furthering education, writing, sustainability, diversity, and healthcare in our industry.”
