How to fall in love with Bourbon by Sylvia C. Holden, Bulleit Bourbon, Shively, Kentucky

Bulleit was the first Bourbon I met. Many moons ago, I was introduced to this caramel-scented, aromatic brown spirit by Andrea Montague, Bulleit’s UK brand ambassador.  After a first date, I was hooked, not realizing what a significant moment this was in my drinking education. I wanted more..I needed more… and I made it a mission to sample every Old-Fashioned in every bar in London.

When I was finally on my way to visit the spiritual home of Bourbon – Kentucky, USA, my first stop had to be Bulleit.  Tim Etheringon-Judge, a previous Lush Life guest and the former Global Brand Ambassador, introduced me to everyone from Bulleit USA. Sylvia C. Holden, Team Leader of the Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Experience at Stitzel-Weller, greeted me with open arms when I walked through the gates. She spent almost the entire morning with me, touring the property and sipping the spirit I have grown to love. Today she is with us to take you through the history and legend of this very special spot outside of the city of Louisville.

Where you can hear me drinking next:

There will be more Kentucky Bourbon on the way in the new year so don’t worry about that.  If you want more info about the state, head to www.kentuckytourism.com. I was their guest in Kentucky and had a great time sipping Bourbon cocktails for a week straight.

Next time, we’re still talking whisky but moving across the globe to Australia. Do they do it differently down under? Well, you’ll have to come back to find out.
