Celebrate Her, the global community and platform championing women in hospitality, partners with Fernet-Branca to launch a competition inviting the hospitality industry to design a limited-edition Celebrate Her x Fernet-Branca coin.

Submissions open on Friday 16th October and entries are open until Friday 27th November, with the winning design and its designer to be revealed at a dedicated community event for International Women’s Day, March 2027.

The competition continues a long-standing relationship between the two, with Fernet-Branca sponsoring the very first Celebrate Her event in 2019 at the Artesian Bar. Rooted in the bartender tradition of the “Fernet handshake”, the Fernet-Branca coin has become a recognised ritual within the global bartending community. Inspired by challenge coin culture, the limited-edition coins are exchanged, collected and carried between bartenders around the world. The Celebrate Her edition builds on that ritual with a limited run of approximately 100 coins, celebrating the people who open doors, share knowledge and champion those around them.

Entrants are asked to create a design  that feels meaningful, collectible and rooted in hospitality culture, bringing together the shared identities of Celebrate Her and Fernet-Branca, and reflecting what Celebrate Her stands for: Connection, Community, Recognition and Opportunity.

In December an advisory panel from Celebrate Her and Fernet-Branca will shortlist five concepts, which will be whittled down to one winner.

The winning coin will be revealed at Celebrate Her’s annual International Women’s Day event, which will follow the community’s familiar format: a day focused on education and community.

The shortlisted designers will be invited to attend alongside mentors, industry leaders and emerging talent from the Celebrate Her community.   The coins will be distributed throughout the year.

Anna Sebastian, founder of Celebrate Her, says: “The Fernet-Branca coin already means so much to bartenders around the world, and this edition is for the people who open doors for others. It felt right that our community should be the ones to design it, and we can’t wait to see what they create.”

Anastasiia Manmar, UK Brand Manager at Fernet-Branca, says: “Fernet-Branca has always been passionate about celebrating and supporting our hospitality community, recognising the people, creativity and dedication that make our industry so special. Partnering with Celebrate Her on this project is a really exciting moment for us and an incredible opportunity to champion their community, amplify their voices and shine a light on the inspiring women who are helping shape the future of hospitality in the UK.”

Further details of the International Women’s Day 2027 event to be confirmed.
