The New York Sour builds on the traditional whiskey sour by adding a float of red wine. It dates back to the late nineteenth century and remains one of the more visually distinctive classics. The layered look is part of its appeal.

The whiskey and citrus provide structure, while the wine adds depth and contrast. It changes both the flavor and the texture of the drink. The result is more complex than a standard sour.
Why Lush Life Loves It
I like this when I want something that feels familiar but a bit more considered. The wine adds just enough to make you pay attention. It is a small upgrade that works.
