When your daughter tells you that she wants to go into hospitality, it’s usually not a big deal, unless she is 12 years old. Mariantonietta Varamo was set on a career in hospitality against the wishes of her parents, who knew it would take her far from home. Still they were supportive and sent her off to the best hospitality school in Italy.
Little did she know when she arrived in London, with only two words of English (yes and potato), that she would ultimately be breaking barriers as the first ever female bartender at Dukes Bar.
