Top 500 Bars announced its rankings from 100 to 1. The gala took place at the Palazzo Borghese, Florence’s most important example of neoclassical architecture, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Florentine residence of Prince Camillo Borghese, now used for private events. With the support of Destination Florence and City Councillor Jacopo Vicini.Â
The new most influential bar in the world is Panda & Sons in Edinburgh. Congratulations to the entire team, who take the crown ahead of Himkok, Oslo, which is number 6 this year. The full Top 100 list is at the end of the press release.
It was a global ceremony featuring the 100 best bars from around the world, including Singapore, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Bangkok for Asia Pacific; New York, New Orleans, and Miami for the USA; Latin America with Mexico City, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, and Cartagena; and of course, all of Europe with the UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, and Norway. While Europe was the most represented continent (50% of the Top 100), notably by London, it’s important to remember that Asia is growing rapidly, with Bangkok and Hong Kong, in particular, having more and more cities in the ranking each year, as is Latin America, especially Mexico.
An Expending Cocktail Scene
The 2025 ranking demonstrates the continued dynamism in the cocktail bar sector since last year. With 125 cities represented and 53 countries, Top 500 Bars illustrates the industry’s expansion and diversification. “The past few years have been a test of resilience for the bar sector,” says Anthony Poncier, founder of Top 500 Bars. “But we are now seeing a strong mobilization of newcomers, expanding to cover the entire planet.” “Our ranking captures this excitement and highlights the most influential establishments globally, shaping the global cocktail scene.”
New Entrants and Emerging Cities
The Top 500 Bars 2025 features a remarkable number of new entries, highlighting the ever-evolving landscape of the cocktail world. These rising stars represent diverse styles and approaches, each bringing unique flavors and experiences relevant to their geographic location. In addition to the new bars, the ranking also welcomes several new cities, highlighting the growing global reach of cocktail culture. These destinations, including Medellin in Colombia, Abu Dhabi in the UAE, Montevideo in Uruguay, and Pune in India, underscore this trend toward internationalization.
